Meet the dance community at Arts for All Wisconsin

I’ve written before about Arts for All Wisconsin — a nonprofit organization that provides arts opportunities for adults and children with disabilities.

Last December, for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, I wrote about their traveling visual art exhibitions.

And in May, for my newsletter, I wrote about Arts for All’s Creative Power awards ceremony — what executive director Christina Martin-Wright referred to as “the Academy Awards for arts and disability.”

The more I learn about AFA, the more excited I get about the atmosphere of support, inclusion, and empathy that they foster. That atmosphere is underscored by an understanding that disability is something we all experience — many of us in our own families, and most of us at some point in our lives.
